Development programs in education are aimed at preparing professionals for their roles in facilitating and supporting learners in their own learning process. In these development programs, professionals can also be introduced to and educated in innovative ways of teaching and learning. Some years ago, Royal Dutch Kentalis began integrating e-learning and multimedia applications in its in-service development programs, including the programs for professionals in deaf education. This chapter describes how Royal Dutch Kentalis has incorporated e-learning and multimedia into its in-service development programs. Special attention is paid to the development and implementation of an innovative, blended learning module for learning sign language according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The setup of the module and the learning results thus far are presented and discussed.
