Intelligent Designs on Society
The social, political, and legal implications of creation science and its belief in a transcendent supernatural creator are analyzed. It is suggested that creation science is not in fact a genuine attempt to advance scientific knowledge but rather a vehicle for propagating a conservative, Christian social agenda. The moral implications for the doctrine of intelligent design in such areas as abortion, human cloning, and stem cell research are drawn out and argued to be highly deleterious to the advance of medical science and scientific research generally.
