The Bible Cause in the Twenty-First Century

(p.310) Epilogue
The Bible Cause

John Fea

Oxford University Press

This epilogue takes the book into the twenty-first century by exploring the ways that the current American Bible Society (ABS) thinks about the idea of scripture engagement and American nationalism. It covers several dimensions of the current ABS, including its commitment to getting 100 million people to “engage” the Bible by 2025, the vision of new president Roy Peterson, the ABS continued pursuit of making the United States a more “Christian” country, and the significance of the organization’s recent move to the city of Philadelphia and its implications for the ABS’s future as a ministry and a promoter of God and country.
