Impedance Tomography

(p.420) Chapter 26 Impedance Tomography

Jaakko Malmivuo

Oxford University Press

This chapter briefly reviews some fundamental questions in impedance tomography. As in impedance plethysmography, also in impedance tomography the current is fed and the voltage is measured through different pairs of electrodes to avoid error due to the contact impedance. The chapter describes some of the measurement methods that are used. Neighboring method is one of the measurement methods whereby the current is applied through neighboring electrodes and the voltage is measured successively from all other adjacent electrode pairs.
