This chapter examines the revelation of the Iran-Contra Affair and the end of the Cold War during the second term of Ronald Reagan as U.S. president. It describes how Reagan initiated the Contra aid program and organized anti-Sandinista guerrillas among Nicaraguan exiles, and explains the role of Oliver North in the Iran-Contra affair. It also explains how Reagan reacted and strategized when the issue was revealed in November 1986.
