This chapter presents the text of George Gershwin's letter to his mother Rose Gershwin dated June or July 1932. In this letter, Gershwin informed his mother about his trip to the Augustus and told her he would be coming back home to New York in about two weeks. This chapter suggests that the matter-of-fact tone of this letter contrasts with the warm closing salutation in his later letters to his mother.
