This chapter begins by a giving a brief discussion of Juscelino Kubitschek’s biography. It evaluates the economics of Brazil during the Kubitschek era. It notes that Kubitschek strategy deserves the label “developmental nationalism”. It adds some of Kubitschek’s experiences of opposition and as well his inflation. It stresses that the essence of Kubitschek’s political style could not possibly have been continued.
