Conservative Century

Oxford University Press

This chapter begins by describing the Conservative Party as a group which dominated British politics to such an extent during the twentieth century that it is likely to become known as the ‘Conservative century’. Next, it talks about the Conservative Party Archive – established at the Bodleian Library at the end of the 1970s – considered one of the most important primary sources that stimulated the exploration for the past and present condition of this remarkably enduring and adaptable political institution.
