This chapter focuses on France's decision to go to war over Poland in September 1939. France made its decision on August 23, 1939. The meeting was called at the behest of Bonnet who hoped to convince his colleagues that France must withdraw its commitment to Poland. It was also reiterated that there was a need to improve the country's financial situation.
