Holy Scripture and Post-Biblical Exegeses
Holy Scripture and Post-Biblical Exegeses
There are five sections and eleven chapters in this book. Part I discusses post-biblical exegeses, the relevance of the Qumran scrolls and the new perspectives of investigation that the evidence demands. Part II consists of two chapters that treat literalistic features of ancient exegesis. These chapters aim to show how issues raised in this book about the Qumran pesharim and Pauline letters address neglected aspects of ancient bible interpretation. Part III consists of three chapters on the exegetical techniques and hermeneutical principles of the pesharim. Part IV consists of three chapters on Paul’s use of the biblical quotations. Finally, Part V compares the hermeneutical principles together.
