This book is a contribution to the study of problems related to the exploitation of scientific discovery by industry in peacetime conditions. It is based on information about what has happened in fifteen firms which have invested in electronics development and five others, four of which had research and development interests in other fields. It analyses the situation within each individual firm and the focus of its interest is on management itself. This book also examines the general structure and functioning of the organizations by observing how people deal with each other.
