Conclusion
Conclusion
This chapter discusses the possible contributions of this book in answering various questions related to the issues of meritocracy, social class, social justice, and education. It has clarified the role of education in the intergenerational transmission of class advantage, the relation between social class and social justice, and the interrelations between these political-theoretical and sociological issues. Despite the limitations of the study, the results may provide the kind of foundations on which other researchers might build, whether by engagement with normative issues that underpin judgments about social justice or by the collection of relevant empirical evidence.
