Corporatist Organizations and the Problem of Rigidity
Corporatist Organizations and the Problem of Rigidity
This chapter discusses the role of corporatist organizations and examines alternative associational or corporatist models. The German system presents the fullest example of the role of corporatist association in the provision of vocational skills. Similar approaches are found in two other German-speaking nations, Austria and Switzerland, and in Denmark. This chapter also explores the relationship of Swedish-labour market-corporatism to skills provision and examines the failure of corporatist policy in the UK.
