This chapter is concerned with the two-set Procrustes problem in its one-sided form and in its two-sided form. It starts by discussing two-set criteria with general forms of T. It also considers problems of translating X1 and X2 , pointing out that in this book, it is nearly always assumed that X1 and X2 are translated to a common origin, which is most conveniently achieved by arranging that both matrices have zero column sums.
