Self and autonomy
Self and autonomy
This chapter discusses ways in which people understand the self and the reasoning that leads them to assume a loss of self in dementia. It explores the implications of reinstating subjectivity and supports an argument that the self is retained even when a person lives with dementia. The chapter also offers ways of giving a critique on the importance of autonomy of self.
