The Geelong Grammar School Model for Positive Education is presented as a framework for cultivating whole-school flourishing. The six domains of the model—positive relationships, positive emotions, positive health, positive engagement, positive accomplishment, and positive purpose—are proposed as core elements. Character strengths are introduced as the underpinning and supportive framework. The model is brought to life in the school at four levels. First, staff learn about the science of wellbeing and flourishing during training courses and regular training sessions. Secondly, they are encouraged and supported to live by the principles of Positive Education and model the behaviors in their actions and interactions with other staff and students. Thirdly, they teach students the science of wellbeing and flourishing in dedicated classes and throughout the broader curriculum. Fourthly, the embedding of Positive Education represents the broader vision of creating a whole-school culture and community of wellbeing.
