The Values in Action (VIA) Classification of Strengths is a set of human traits that have been valued and respected across times and cultures. This chapter explores how the VIA has been infused throughout the Geelong Grammar School community and forms an underpinning framework for Positive Education. It includes examples, lessons, and activities that showcase how the language of character strengths has been integrated into all aspects of life at the school. The focus is on encouraging students and staff to identify, use, and grow their own character strengths, as well as to notice or “spot” strengths in others. The chapter is introduced by Professor Nansook Park, who together with Professor Chris Peterson has been at the forefront of developing and applying the classifications of character strengths worldwide.
