(p.1) Introduction
The European Fundamental Freedoms

Pedro Caro de Sousa

Oxford University Press

The Introduction presents the context in which European free movement law is applied, and explains how the book will bridge the gap between the legal and extra-legal perspectives. In particular, it describes the contextual approach that will be adopted, which will focus expressly and systematically on the interplay between the different normative concerns behind the EU fundamental freedoms identified in traditional legal discourse, and the institutional environment in which that legal discourse takes place.
