This chapter discusses two morphological processes: plural and genitive marking. Plural marking shows a great deal of variation and irregularity, which contrasts with the relative regularity of the genitive. With respect to plurals, phonological and orthographic matters are examined, the status of foreign plurals, and cases in which plural is unmarked. For the genitive again phonological and orthographic matters are considered, but also the factors that condition the appearance of the s-genitive as opposed to the of-genitive.

Keywords:   regular plural, irregular plurals, foreign plurals, unmarked plural, s-genitive, of-genitive
