Opposition to the retrograde ‘Aryan physics’ movement (Deutsche Physik) became a convenient tool (scapegoat) for German physicists to whiten their political records during the denazification campaigns after the war. Focusing on the movement's leaders (Lenard, Stark) was a convenient way to obscure ideological embarrassments of the past — but only as long as the occupiers were actively applying the pressure.
