This chapter presents some overall conclusions from the work that has been reviewed, together with some thoughts on prospects for the future. In particular, the major lessons that have emerged so far from the study of exotic birds are summarized, and what those lessons might tell us about invasions more generally is discussed. The chapter also highlights some of the important questions that remain to be tackled.
