This chapter presents the theory of the effects of strong anharmonicity in vibrational spectra of crystals. It contains the theory of biphonons, the theory of Fermi resonance by polaritons, the theory of dielectric tensor in the region of two particle states, and the theory of local biphonons. Some demonstrating experiments are also presented.
