This chapter presents calculations of dielectric tensor of superlattices. In consideration of superlattices having large periods compared to lattice constants, equations of macroscopical electrodynamics are used. For superlattices with anisotropic layers, the spatial dispersion in the vicinity of exciton resonances, magneto-optical as well as electro-optical effects and optical nonlinearities are considered.
Keywords: dielectric tensor, isotropic layers, anisotropic layers, spatial dispersion, magneto-optical effects, electro-optical effects, optical nonlinearities
