Conclusions
This chapter covers Edwards’s death in Amsterdam in 1648 and explores the impact of Gangraena on later parliamentarian divisions. It looks at the changing readings of Gangraena from the mid 17th century to the 20th century, and suggests what a study of the work can reveal about the importance of print culture during the English Revolution and about the nature of historical truth.
