This chapter examines a manual for the performance of homa, part of the Cakrasaṃvara-tantra textual cycle. Three of the mahāsiddhas are considered the most important exegetes of the Cakarasaṃvara cycle: Lūi-pa, Ghaṇṭa-pa, and Kā ṇha-pa. This text, the Śrīcakrasaṃvarahomavidhi is attributed to the Kā ṇha, also known as Kṛ ṣ ṇ ācarya. After a short description of the chief deity, Saṃvara, the manual opens with an explanation of the necessity of performing homa. The manual includes directions for internalization and uses a list of three kinds of fire offerings, as distinct from the more common four.
