Within a match
While previous chapters focused on the match as a whole, Chapters 10–12 study the development over points within one match. Do players perform the same no matter how important the current point is? Is their performance independent of the performance at previous points? If not, are the resulting ups and downs stronger for weaker players? The chapter also shows how the results are informative for human behavior in general. The hypothesis that new balls are an advantage to the server is tested.
