This chapter articulates an integrated and comprehensive model of Qurʾānic religious difference, which aims to reweave sameness, lateral religious difference, and hierarchal religious difference into a coherent—although complex and at times ambiguous—account. In doing so, this chapter explores the themes of creation, the relationship between creation and revelation, the relationship between revelations, and the purpose of divinely intended lateral religious difference. It also argues for the necessity of reenvisioning the Qurʾānic discourse as provocative guidance rather than as taxonomy of religious difference.
