Challenges of Electoral Integrity
This book looks at three related themes. Firstly, it considers what normative standards and empirical evidence help to determine when elections fail. Next, it examines what strengthens effective, impartial, and independent electoral authorities. Finally, it analyses what the consequences of lack of electoral integrity for trust and confidence in elections and thus political legitimacy are. The introduction lays out the reasons for growing concern about challenges of electoral integrity, the core concepts, and the overall plan of the book.
