The visit of the Prince of Wales goes ahead in spite of the troubles that persist throughout the country. Resentful of security protection and protocol which prevents him from ‘meeting the people’, the prince is a difficult guest and refuses to come down and meet the dignitaries at the Residency Ball. Efforts are made to organize the activities he enjoyed such as polo. There are no security worries. Life settles back to normal and Mrs Barton opens two schools for girls.
