These include the rights of the Lord Chancellor to sit on the Appellate Committee of the House of Lords and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, judicial appointments and the deployment and discipline of judges, Lord Chancellor as protector of the judiciary, and the Lord Chancellor as link and buffer between the executive and the judiciary and as champion of the judiciary.
