Brief Interventions with Bereaved Children

Frances Kraus

Oxford University Press

This chapter discusses the idea of the extended warranty, which is a term borrowed from the insurance field, where it means an extension of the usual term of guarantee for a new purchase. For the purposes of this chapter and this discussion, however, this term is used to mean a response to the problems and issues that can possibly arise for a bereaved family by offering them the opportunity for further limited contact, if needed.

Keywords:   extended warranty, response, problems, issues, bereaved family, further limited contact
