(p.1) Introduction
Cosmopolitan War

Cécile Fabre

Oxford University Press

The introduction sets the stage for the book. It claims that a book-length cosmopolitan theory of the just war is needed in the face of the growing but separate development of cosmopolitan theory and just-war theory. It begins by describing briefly the key tenets of just-war theory (jus ad bellum, jus in bello, jus post bellum), goes on to outline the book's chapters, and ends with some remarks on its methods (a combination of casuistry and reflective equilibrium).

Keywords:   cosmopolitanism, just-war theory, jus ad bellum, jus in bello, jus post bellum, reflective equilibrium, casuistry
