This chapter examines the question of the classical limit of quantum fields. It discusses the mutual measurability of field observables, and the types of states of the field for which quasi-classical behaviour is recovered. It also considers the energetic stability of quantum field theories, and addresses the related phenomenon of spontaneous symmetry-breaking.
