This chapter examines litigation funding. It addresses how litigation is funded, especially where litigation costs are often disproportionate to the amounts or issues at stake, who funds it, to what extent, and to what basis. It also examines the means by which costs and litigation funding may develop in the future and the implications this will have for the civil justice system.
