In this chapter, a concise overview of the duties and responsibilities of an overseas liaison officer are discussed. This chapter states that these officers act as representatives of foreign administration that take part in the promotion of enhanced global security. This chapter also discusses the establishment as well as the role of elected overseas liaison officers in the Caribbean region. In addition, the chapter gave emphasis to the wide influence of these officers. Overseas laison officers, being representatives of foreign nations have easy access to information and surveillance — further enhancing the state of security in the region. The enforcement and resources of these officers are scrutinized. The British High Commission and Deputy High Commission are also focused on. Conflicts between the overseas liaison offices and other security-oriented agencies are mentioned.
