Why have Christian theologians returned again and again over the course of the centuries to the topic of predestination? This book argues that the reason for the recurrent interest in predestination is that Scripture teaches the core elements of the doctrine of predestination. When Second Temple Jewish theologies took up the election of Israel, their affirmation of an eternal Creator God resulted in the doctrine of predestination.
