Equivalence principle relates physics in an accelerated frame and in a gravitational field. It is possible to understand many properties of black holes beginning with the flat Minkowski spacetime. We introduce curved coordinates, metric, non‐inertial frames, and describe the covariance principle. We discuss physics in auniformly accelerated frame and in a static uniform gravitational field. We introduce a so called Rindler horizon and describe its properties. The geometry near the Rindler horizon approximates the geometry near a black hole in a case when the mass of the latter becomes large. This explains why the results presented in this Chapter are important for understanding many properties of ‘real’ black holes.
