Chapter Ten provides background to the founding of Princeton Theological Seminary. It was a school born of the efforts of Ashbel Green, Archibald Alexander and Samuel Miller as these three men spearheaded an effort to establish a school to train young men for the Presbyterian ministry. Presbyterian ministers were in increasingly short supply, and Princeton College was producing fewer rather than more such ministers.
