This chapter reviews the school-based dissemination and implementation evidence base and discusses the specific challenges that schools face in their quest to promote health. The importance of building partnerships with schools cannot be overstated. If researchers want to develop programs that will outlive their evaluation, they must collaborate with the people who will be responsible for delivery down the road from the onset. Specific factors that are likely to carry over to other school-based programs are those that are low cost and easy to integrate into existing classroom practices.
