This chapter continues the chronicle of Blitzstein’s final years with some discussion of his last residency at Yaddo; his donation of his papers to the Wisconsin Center for Theater Research; his trip to Israel sponsored by the American Jewish Congress; his year as a playwright in residence at Bennington College; his final months in Martinique and the assault that led to his death; and the memorial benefit concert at Philharmonic Hall at Lincoln Center organized by Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, and Lillian Hellman to raise funds for a Marc Blitzstein Musical Theater Award for the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
