A Response to Philip A. Cunningham
A Response to Philip A. Cunningham
This chapter presents two Jewish scholars’ genuine appreciation for progress in the Catholic-Jewish dialogue chronicled in Chapter 1. In reference to Benedict XVI’s concern about relativism, why not focus, it asks, on “relativity” instead of the false dichotomy between absolutism and relativism? Or can Jews affirm that for Christians, but not for themselves, God reveals himself in some real way in Jesus, without coming, as Jews, dangerously close to believing in Jesus and thereby ceasing to be Jews?
Keywords: Catholic-Jewish relations, Catholicism, Judaism, Jews, Christians, relativism, absolutism, relativity
