Interventions based on a holistic, strengths-based paradigm to battering are described in this chapter. These include an in-depth description of the VIGOR, the Victim Inventory of Goals, Options, and Risks, which is a tool that can be used for risk assessment, safety planning, and other risk management. This chapter also includes other approaches consistent with a strengths-based paradigm and makes general recommendations about a more person-centered and family-centered approach to services.
