The basic outline of interrogatives offered in this chapter is a minimally revised translation of a previous paper written in Italian and published in an ASIS working papers volume edited by P. Benincà and C. Poletto. The purpose of this chapter is twofold: (a) to provide an English version of this work, to give wider access to the basic description of Borgomanerese interrogatives, and (b) to present the phenomena on Borgomanerese interrogatives in the larger context of the other aspects of Borgomanerese grammar discussed in this book (esp. chapter 5). It includes a summary of the interrogative pronouns of Borgomanerese, a discussion of the behavior of the preposition a in interrogatives, a discussion of the syntactic difference between cus ‘what’ and its in situ equivalent que, and a presentation of doubly-filled comp and cleft questions.
