Conclusion: The Significance of Design
The conclusion argues that design, because of its ubiquity and embeddedness in everyday life, serves to illustrate the importance of the aesthetic in general as part of human lives and concerns. A theory of design represents the need for a re-integration of aesthetics into philosophy at large. An aesthetics of design is uniquely situated to challenge some of the more entrenched positions in the discipline, and to provide solutions to some of its more intractable problems.
