Gerald L. Clore describes his most underappreciated work: an essay on the role of experiencing cognitive structural change. Clore argued that the amount and rate of change in cognitive structure may determine the intensity of emotional experiences. He explored the link between cognitive restructuring and emotional intensity, noting how some of the more specific factors that make emotions intense or mild differ for different emotions.
