Sarah Pierpont Edwards

Oxford University Press

This chapter presents excerpts from “Uncommon Discoveries of the Divine Perfections and Glory,” Sarah Pierpont Edwards's personal account of her spiritual renewal. Sarah, the wife of Jonathan Edwards, experienced a memorable “season of grace” during the Great Awakening, which she attributed to the work of the Holy Spirit. Her account was published in Sereno Edwards Dwight's The Life of President Edwards (1830).
