  • I would like to begin by asking you some questions about yourself. What kind of work do you do?

  • How long have you been doing this type of work?

  • Where were you born? City and state.

  • What brought you to this area?

  • How long have you lived in this area?

  • What year were you born?

  • Are most of the people you work with Black, Latino, or White?

  • What percentage would you say are Black, White, and Latino?

  • Are most of the people you interact with on your job Black, Latino, or White?

  • Are most of the people in your neighborhood Black, Latino, White, or is it a mixture?

  • What types of changes, if any, have you noticed in the racial composition of this area in the last 10 years?

  • How would you characterize race relations between Blacks and Whites in this area? Would you say that they’re poor, excellent, fair? Why do you say that?
