Many scientists struggle with writing. The mechanics involved, the time spent, multiple revisions and waiting on collaborators to do their part. Scientists sometimes feel that their manuscripts do not do justice to the underlying effort and to the importance of the results. These troubles often stem from poor organization and a lack of strategy. This chapter presents the essentials of the writing mind-set and some of the basics in putting pen to paper.
